Have you ever been so confused over what you want to do about your career? I know I have.
I remember at one stage being so concerned about what career to choose for myself that I began experiencing severe depression and prevalent negativity in my life. Society had raised me to follow the money and not the heart.
Attaining my university degree, working a job I had little interest in, and living in a safe and secure way: I did this all out of the belief that these were the cornerstones of a successful life until the day I woke up and had the most astounding realisation to date: I was living to please others and not myself.
Since then, I haven’t looked back. I left my job and inundated myself with everything that resonated with the person I wanted to be and the goals I wanted to achieve. Music, photography, yoga; I did any and everything which gave me immense joy. In doing so, I cultivated my mind to influence beliefs, thoughts, and habits which were congruent with how I imagined myself to be when I attained my goals.
I have since gone on to found a successful photography company as well as a budding music career. Meditation has become a habit and as a result it is easy to tune out any doubt or fear which may arise regarding the path I have chosen for myself.
I am living life on my terms, and I have since noticed that as a result, not only am I the happiest I have ever been, but I am also continuously growing with an unbelievable sense of awareness and grounding of who I am and how I perceive myself.
Don’t ever let anybody tell you what you can or cannot do. Follow the heart and the money will come. If there’s any personal philosophy I would like to impart is this: Work and be miserable or have fun and build what you play with!
Sometimes the opinions of others, especially from the people closest to you, on what life is and should be can have such a powerful effect on you that it can greatly affect your perspective on things, and thus attract to you the very things on which your attention is focused. This is why it is so vital to surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you; these will undoubtedly be some of your greatest treasures.
Below are three tips I would like to share on living life the way you want:
3 Tips For Living Your Ultimate Life
1) Discover And Live Your Passions
Do what you love to do. Heck go out and find somebody who has already accomplished what it is you want to pursue and learn about what it takes to reach there. If you don’t yet have an idea as to what you want to do, then experiment in a wide range of activities. Before you know it, you will be in a box buried in the ground. Might as well have a damn good time before then!
2) Be The Person You See Yourself As
Be the change you want to see. Develop the beliefs, thoughts, attitudes and actions that you see yourself doing as your ideal self. There is overwhelming scientific evidence which shows that people are what they think. Your beliefs and thoughts are very powerful. Change them and watch your reality change as well.
3) Live Presently
Give up trying to control everything. Let life flow. Have you ever noticed that people who are always concerned and worried about their future seem to experience so much stress that they usually tend to be extremely negative in their outlook on life? They constantly dream and wish for the day life will change and are never content with where they are now. I know because I was like that. Enjoy every second of your life and work with where you are now. Practice the art of gratitude as much as you can. You will begin to experience so much peace and bliss that nothing will be able to shake you from your path.
Allow and trust that your heart’s desires are being fulfilled. The universe will bring you what you want in ways which you cannot even begin to dream about.
